Lots of tornado warnings near DC tonight...
One touched down in Fredericksburg; and they're tracking one now in the southern part of Prince Georges County.

1. Winston-Salem, NC got slammed tonight
that may be the front we just had 2 hours ago

baseball sized hail reported in Greensboro...I-40 shut down between G-boro and Winston. :scared: Hang on!

Yikes! Fortunately they're only talking about dimes here...

The rain is so heavy that it's a little disconcerting, and there's little letting up. The Weather Service is still showing tornadoes near the NC border.

5. I think we're done here but when the local weather goddess
on the teevee (Lanie Pope--she ROCKED tonight and we're lucky to have her) was doing the play by play for a storm she was tracking in Greensboro, she was a bit freaked out by a certain cell with huge hail and noted that it was unusual for that in these parts.

This front was a fast mover. And once it gets daylight, we're going to see some really serious damage to parts of Winston-Salem, Forsyth County and into Greensboro, Guilford county.
