68! :wow:

That is all.

On edit: No it isn't.

From Wikipedia: "Toni began her career studying classical piano and singing with Auburn University’s big band, the Auburn Knights. Toni did backup vocals on Pink Floyd's Wall."

6. Yep, Daryl Dragon.
His father, Carmen Dragon, was a director of a symphony orchestra in L.A. - I don't know what it's called.

I was a MAJOR groupie.

13. Carmen Dragon directed the Glendale Symphony Orchestra.
I met him when I was in high school, at music camp. He was one of the guest conductors. He was a great guy, very relaxed. We high school kids were a bit intimidated by the conductors. We got a new one every week for five weeks. This was at the University of Kansas. He was there the first week. We played the Finale of Shostakovich's Fifth.

We played his arrangement of "America the Beautiful" which they used to play on TV before they signed off for the night (I remember when they weren't on 24 hours a day).

He was a brilliant arranger. What he did to an old saw like "America the Beautiful" was amazing.

He has a daughter also named Carmen Dragon who is a harpist.

7. She looks fabulous!
And interesting info, Richardo. I did NOT know that about her singing on Pink Floyd's "The Wall".

5. Saw C & T at a corporate event years ago... The Captain spoke only briefly,
but he used his time with the microphone to bash Rush Limbaugh (!) -a complete non-sequitur, but entertaining just the same. (Grand Rapids, MI, 1994)

10. Looked it up since I was curious...her backup vocals were scrapped
Session singer Jimmy Haas, who is credited with backup vocals on "the Wall," e-mailed me to set the record straight. He says that while Toni Tennille, the Beach Boys and others originally provided backup vocals on "the Wall," their parts were ultimately scrapped and re-recorded using Haas and three other backup vocalists. Haas asserts that "We re-did everything that was on tape up to that point. Some of it was just bare ideas that Roger had, but the intonation and flow just wasn't there, at least on the Beach Boy parts. The only thing I recall Toni on was a bit of 'Goodbye Blue Sky.' She may well have done more, but once Roger and David got our first tune in the can after about an hour's work, they erased everything and started over." Another "Wall" mystery put to rest!

One thing is certain, though: Toni Tennille is not the voice of the groupie on the album version of "Empty Spaces." (This rumor was effectively put to rest after Floyd fan Brian Magnuson e-mailed Tennille's official web site, the reply stating that Toni did sing backup on the album, but did not voice "the Groupie.")
