I am 13 posts away from well 13,000!

I would like to tell you a story... it will link to my 13,000th post...


the last time my baby brother David was in the hospital for his cardio-myopathy he had due to AIDS his SO brought him a bright pink geranium. My mom put it in the window of his hospital room. At that time the hospital was a square. so if you looked out the window you would see the windows of the same floor across from you......
Mom would go out for a smoke and she met another woman, this womans young (8-9 yrs old) son also had aids... she told my mom about a bright pink flower she sees from her sons room across the way and how they love to see it .. yup, Davids flower... they became friends...


when my brother came home for the last time he brought that plant home with him.. I planted it in my garden and one day he wanted to see it.... I wheeled him to the door so he could look outside and see the beginnings of what was going to be my garden...

well he died that May and I promised him I would ALWAYS have a bright pink geranium in my garden... no matter what or no matter where I was .....

it's coming up to the 16th year anniversary of his death and I have kept my promise

Could be worse. Surprised the chirping and squawking of the parrakeet I am birdsitting hasn't caused a bad headache...yet.

I'm sorry you are without your brother though:(

my brothers SO
and his SO (they had a civil ceremony)
come to my house

almost every Friday night for dinner

we have remained friends/really family
throughout!!!
