I've decided that I'm going to be rich.
Now I just need a plan. :)

How should I go about accumulating wealth? Stocks? Real estate? Start a trucking company? Marry a rich woman? Lottery?

Seriously, I'm thinking real estate is the way to go. There are a couple of different factors I need to check out first, though. One is fuel prices. If fuel continues to go up, I think we are in for a serious recession. Two is my local economy. There is a big ass GM plant where I live and they are thinking about closing it down. It's where they make their mid-size SUVs. Imagine that. There are thousands of people who are currently dependent on that plant for their income. GM employees, local parts suppliers, warehouse employees, truckers. It's going to be real bad news for the Dayton, Ohio economy if GM closes that plant.

So, in the mean time, I'm going to be studying the local market, saving money, and reading up on real estate investing. My aunt is a realtor and I'm going to have a long talk with her about the local market. Once I get the ball rolling on this I think we can make each other some money.

How do you plan on becoming rich?

1. My dear Droopy!
Your plans sound wonderful...

I don't know how to become rich...

I know it takes time and patience, though...

Good luck!

:hi:

3. Thanks
You are right about time and patience. In a good market I think I could become a full time investor in maybe 8 years. In the current market I have no idea.

2. I've decided that once you get rich you're gonna adopt me.
Thanks, dad! :toast:

BTW: I dunno how you're gonna get the bucks- that's your problem. I only know I get dibs on the inheritance.

5. Pretty simple
First, I'm going to take out a full-page ad in a variety of magazines.

The gist of the ad is that my importation company has recently come across a huge stash of late-1970's child pornography from Europe, and that due to the "grandfathering" clause of the US Code, my company can offer this once-in-a-lifetime product, while supplies last!!!!! Only the originals can be sold, you see, so act now! Once they're gone, they're gone!!!! Mention that the products will clear EU and US customs in about 4 months.

Just sent a check or money order for $99.99 plus $7.95 S&H to some acronym like CECPI, LLC., and your product will be at your doorstep in 6-8 weeks after importation. Ironclad money-back guarantee.

Second, let this ad circulate for about 3 months. Take all the checks and money orders, cash them, and keep a careful accounting of all money received, including names and addresses of customers.

Third, a month after your advertised customs-clearing goes past, mail everybody a refund check. Explain in a suitably sorrowful manner that unforeseen legal barriers have prevented the porn from being imported, and it was in fact destroyed by European authorities.

Now, by this time you're wondering "how do I get rich if I mail everybody a refund check?"

Here's how: Make the checks the biggest size you can find. Also, make them the brightest, retina-burning Blaze Orange possible. I mean, the kind of thing that a deer hunter could pin to his jacket in lieu of a safety vest.

And on the top of the check print out in the biggest, boldest text possible "CLASSIC EUROPEAN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IMPORTERS, LLC".

Underneath that, put your motto, "Feeding your darkest, most illegal prepubescent fantasies".

Make sure the checks expire in 90 days.

Then just sit back and watch them NOT BE CASHED.

After, say, four months, empty out the bank account for refunds and retire to Aruba.

How's that?

6. I let you try that one. I'm not quite twisted enough to try it.
And that's saying quite a bit. Good luck in evading the authorities!

8. See, being rich means that you do not give money away
I would be happy to finance your new rig, though, at a reasonable interest rate. Might get a better deal than through the finance firms. :)

11. Nope, you ain't going to get rich doing that
Note: Giving money to a candidate is not giving money away. It's more of a high risk investment because there can be a return on that money due to better economic conditions and jobs created by the candidate if he or she is elected to office.

12. I wasn't counting that
I meant more like to friends and relatives who are badly off, cancer research (way
too much cancer in my family to ignore), children's hospitals, food for the homeless,
all sorts of useless stuff like that, and no, I'm not gonna get rich doing that, but
hey, who wants to die a billionaire, right?

13. Well, I guess I stepped right into that one
We all do what we think is right. There isn't anybody looking after me so I'm going to take care of myself.

I'll give away my fortune when I'm done using it. It might be another 50 years or so. :)
