1. Stuff like that always cools me out
People get evolution wrong and think "survival of the fittest" means competition. Sometimes the "fittest" means the the most altruistic.

That dog is an amazing mother to handle 12 youngersters period, let alone 6 of them being kittens! My sister used to breed dogs and some of them had a hard time with a litter of 4 let alone 12....:loveya:

3. I wonder what they will all be like as they grow up?
If not kept together, I will bet that the kittens and puppies will always have more of an affiliation to each other than they would have otherwise.

I did know a family who had a large mixed breed shepherd female, they adopted a kitten for their small daughter. I saw the female dog carry that little kitten around and the cat seemed to suckle the dog at times too.

As the kitten got older, the dog and she remained very close and would play together.

The kitty was crying, the Mommy was concerned ....and wanted the human to leave her babies alone.
