This is actually (in my new, cynical way) a good thread. I am glad I am done struggling with my doctor in my attempts to get him to see that there is nothing really that can be prescribed. I hope you are well.
Sounds like you are taking too big a dose. Have to take about 1/4 of what is usually prescribed. Also, taking all of that is way too much. Grief is normal, but it can cause a chemical imbalance.
I actually am doing well on Lexapro--it does its job with the occasional vivid dream (I can handle that). Sounds like you need talk therapy more than any drug therapy. Find a new doctor.
I can't offer you any advice on this subject. I am not too familiar with a lot of those drugs. The doctors gave me generic Xanax a few years back when I was having some panic attacks. I took it for awhile but then decided I needed to control it by myself without any drugs.
Some fellow posters seemed to give you some good advice about dosage, etc.
It's just a battle I've been having with my doctor. I did the compliance thing, and now he realizes that perhaps I am right. I have always been a live in the now kind of person, no matter how horrid it may be.
