Poll question: Did you ever forget where you proposed to your SO?
... "Colorado is my life," Republican candidate Bob Schaffer assured the state's voters this week in his inaugural television ad in what likely will be one of the nation's key Senate races. Striding toward the camera in the creatively produced spot, he proudly noted that he proposed to his wife "on top of Pike's Peak."

Just one problem. The landscape looming behind him was Alaska's Mt. McKinley ... http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/05/colorado-is-my.html

Too Funny - Colorado Republican Schaffer running for senate uses Mt McKinley as backdrop

2. Jackson Square, New Orleans
The bells from St. Louis Cathedral started ringing. Yes, really. Must have been a good sign, since we celebrate our 13th anniversary next month!

"You know what? We oughta get married!"

old joke

Seriously, though, there wasn't any big proposal, as time passed it just sort of became obvious. But for the sake of something to tell friends, kids, etc., we went out to Banff one day so it could be "official."

Me: "Wanna get hitched?"

Her: "OK."

Me: "All right then, what's for lunch, A&W or KFC?"

edit: That was 26 years ago.
