Fit president challenges entourage to join 100-degree club
CRAWFORD, Texas, Aug. 7 — When the Texas sun is high in the sky and the thermometer hits 100 degrees Fahrenheit, President Bush does not retire to the air-conditioned comfort of his ranch house. He puts on running shorts and shoes and summons the willing for a “heat run” across the parched prairie. He was at it again on Thursday.

During the first couple of days of Bush’s August vacation, the temperature did not make it to 100 degrees. But on Tuesday just past noon, the thermometer at a Secret Service checkpoint finally pegged 100, and word spread quickly the time had come.
Tuesday’s participants were a contingent of U.S. Marines, and a couple were unable to finish.
This is not for the faint-hearted. With the area in the grip of a heat wave, the Waco Tribune-Herald advised Thursday that people reduce or eliminate strenuous activities or put them off to the coolest time of day.

Even people in great condition can have a medical problem in heat like that when running--but I wouldn't wish that on our fearless leader. Nah...

3 miles is a standard run, daily runs are almost always longer with repetitive hill work. Unless they were out drinking with Bush the night before, there's no way a self-respecting jarhead would drop a run with the friggin ~president~ leading it!

He should be in charge of the exercise program in Baghdad. It's hot there also; he ought to be quite comfortable. (Hell would be nice)

I guess this behavior explains his poor morality and judgement: he's brain dead from his ridiculous, heat stroke causing exercise program.

There is a bicycle race in the Wichita Area called the Hotter 'n Hell.

It's just miserable outside.
