1. It seems pretty clear to me...
This guy was on his way to pick up his date for prom, and he was on foot since he only lived a couple of block away from her. When he was halfway there, though, he got a call from her saying she ripped part of her dress and that she didn't have a sewing machine to repair it. Hearing that she was nearly in tears, he told her he would hurry back to his house and borrow his mother's sewing machine so she could fix her dress.

After he was on his way back, sewing machine in tow, he came across the scene behind him. His father was with him so he could take pictures of the couple, and when he saw the UPS truck stranded in such a way he couldn't help but take a picture. You see, the father worked for FedEx, and seeing the comic nature of one of his competitor's trucks stuck in such a way, he insisted that he take a picture of his son in front of the hapless UPS truck.

There you have it! The unexplainable... Explained!

2. But are you telling me they're gonna WALK to the prom?
With his Dad as an escort. That guy is SO not gonna get laid.

3. No, no, no. His date had a car.
He obviously doesn't have a car, seeing as he's walking to her house. She probably had a sweet ride - she was a bit of a daddy's girl, and she was rewarded with a shiny new car for her 16th birthday a couple of months earlier.

4. Then why didn't she pick HIM up?
Plus, couldn't have been much of problem with her dress if that little Ronco sewing machine was gonna fix it.

However, I do see the reasonableness of your explanation.

Wait....is that a picture of YOU? hahaha

That's the most ludicrous, craziest accusation I've ever heard in my entire...
