2. Excellent!
I envy the green that seems to be the dominate the natural growth.

It looks like you have done a top-notch job with that garden.

30. It looks remarkably like my garden!
Edited on Thu May-22-08 12:13 PM by LaraMN
Only bigger!

I just planted much of my vegetable garden in the last couple days. The short growing season sucks! I have gone completely overboard this year. I think I ripped out half our lawn in my mad desire to add more flower bed and garden space everywhere. I am calling it an ecologically responsible endeavor. I figure if there's less lawn to mow, we'll use less gas running the mower. I also have other back-up excuses if that one goes over poorly.

:P

34. I went nuts and had almost the entire lawn torn up.
I like flowers and shrubs and vegetables and I hate mowing the lawn, even with my electric mower. But the seeds are taking their damn sweet time sprouting. The lettuce and snow peas have just put in an appearance, but the beans are still sulking. If I'm lucky I may have something to eat by the time the snow falls.

What is the tall plant?? Is it a flower? Is that spinach in front?

I didn't start taking pictures yet, I'll remember to take some tomorrow to post. I made my veggie region a lot bigger :headbang:

4. Spinach and peas in front, the tall one is a sunflower.
I have only a 5 ft x 15 ft area, without full sun.

I feel lucky to have this much green.

I'm looking forward to your pictures.

10. nice! I just planted some blue fescue plants and some fountain grass on sunday
ina flower bed i have that i redo almost every year, i either plant the wrong stuff or don't deadhead things enough so i decided that since i've had good luck with ornamental grass i'd try it out this year in the dreaded bed of soon to be dead plants and so far so, i love that color combination and the shapes. I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them for you.

11. Ptah! We planted a vegetable garden this year -
It's too dark out now to take pictures, of course, but I'll get a few tomorrow. It's going great guns. We planted pumpkins, zucchini, green onions, carrots, sugar snap peas, and sweet corn.

18. Oh, I understand. My boyfriend is the one who took those pics
he took zillions. That one bush was out of control. We had enough rain in the early spring and it was warm enough that we all got roses really early. Sadly, they are gone now. But many buds are coming back.

The blooms on this bush, right next to the pink one, are incredibly fragrant.

This is the small bush, but isn't this a beautiful color?

25. Here's mine and Betaben's
We started out organic in the "main" garden, but the apartment complex landscapers decided without our permission that we could use some pesticide. :grr: Now that we have an enormous mint infestation, it's about to become completely "inorganic" unless someone has some mint-murdering suggestions I don't know about (hint, hint :hi:).

The picture isn't crooked; our whole place runs downhill.

most imaginative gardener. She has most of our 1/4 acre
from her house in the back...and we love to see what she has done all back there.

I am not the world's best photographer but here is some of what she has done:

BTW her name is Ruth and she is a total Democratic supporter.
