I've got a painful hole im my back!
Time to whine.

They took a chunk of flesh for a biopsy a few days ago, and it still stings like a mutha. There's a weird hole near my shoulder blade. Mrs. BlueDog says that it looks like someone took a miniature ice cream scoop to my back.

OwieOwieOwie.

1. can you get topical anaesthetic OTC?
Here in Canada I can buy either 5% xylocaine ointment, or EMLA, a cream anaesthetic. The latter is what dermatologists recommend that you put on stiff like seborrheic keratoses (stuff on TOP of the skin, not what she has to cut into the skin to get at) a few hours before she burns them off with that electric needle. I use both for painful cracks of my fingertips. But I do know that at CVS and probably Walgreens too they sell store brand antibiotic cream with pain relief and it is pretty effective.

4. I might have to try that
Frankly, it's a bit freaky to feel this socket-thingy, but if this doesn't ease up, I'm going to have to try something like your suggestion.
