4. I'm using it
NoScript, StumbleUpon both work, I don't know about the others since I'm not using it. All in all it seems pretty good.

Is it noticeably faster? (Not that I think it's slow now.)

11. Maybe a little
it seems to be less of a RAM hog... I'm running under linux, so I can't guarantee your mileage. I'm pretty sure you can have both 2 & 3 on your system if you want to try it...

13. It's a handy little plugin
A little bothersome at first as you get it tweaked for the sites you visit but it's well worth it. I used to get unresponsive script errors every other day. Now I get none.

6. I'm using FF3 beta 5 on Linux and Mac.
It works well and handles the plugins I use (AdBlocker Plus, NoScript, ShowIP, and FasterFox). I don't think it's any faster than FF2, but it certainly isn't any slower. All in all, it's an evolutionary upgrade, rather than a radically new thing.

10. I'd say it is faster, and some things work better on my Mac
Google Docs work much better under FF3 RC1 than 2. And I'd say it boots faster and certainly runs faster. I was having problems yesterday, but it turned out that it was my Mac as a whole; logging out fixed it, and it works fine. (Read: the problems were NOT with Firefox.)

15. were you using version 2 for mac?
I run both OSX and WinXP on this computer, and I use firefox in windows, but the Mac versions I've tried are AWFUL. Much worse than safari, which I'm not too crazy about as is.

18. I used FF2 on the mac and it worked pretty well.
That said, my primary browser on the Mac is Camino, so I only ran FF2 about 20% of the time (usually just for sites that didn't like Camino). FF didn't feel particularly slow, however. It did most things as quickly as Safari or Camino, and wasn't especially buggy. FF3 looks like being about the same for me in terms of functionality and stability.

20. slowness wasn't a problem
I've just found it to be so damb clunky. For example, there isn't a setting that will allow to tab over buttons - now, that's a little nuts. Very few things that can be customized, and visually it was just so much worse than it is for windows. When things won't work in Safari (the main thing that bothers me about it), I usually just deal with them from within windows, which is kind of a pain, since I'd like to ditch windows.

22. Tabbing over buttons...
Edited on Fri May-23-08 12:17 AM by Kutjara
...(or any element on a web page for that matter) worked fine for me in FF2. Your version may have a bug or some other bit of brokenness that's making it behave strangely.

As for customization, there are a zillion things you can change, from themes (via addons) to helper applications (ditto), to every aspect of how the browser behaves (by typing about:config in the URL bar and playing with the endless list of parameters). It really is far more configurable than IE (or Safari) if you dig a little bit beneath the surface.

24. tabbing over links/buttons is possible on the Mac
I can't remember, but it's either in Firefox preferences, or in the System Preferences control panel under Keyboard.

(I wanted to type System Preferences cdev... aye, those were the days...)

26. I know that it's possible on a mac
I have safari set up to do it, but I haven't been able to figure out how to make firefox do it.

As long as Adblock and NoScript function correctly I'll start using it immediately.

8. It's okay. doesn't seem much different at all.
I HAAAATE not having my preferred theme available though.

I might go back to version 2 simply because of that.

...I had downloaded an earlier version of it, and it screwed my firefox all to hell. Decided then, I'd wait till it was "official".

21. I just downloaded it and Firefox wouldn't open
So I'm using Safari now, which is oddly enough running much faster than FireFox was. Firefox used to be faster than Safari.
