I came home from work today to find my 16-year old daughter, and her BFF Crystal,
curled up on the couch, reading Stephen Colbert's book (I am America and So Can You) and laughing their asses off! They totally 'got' the humor of the book.

My girl is thinking of joining the Political club at her school next fall, and she's trying to get caught up on current political issues. I think it will be an exciting time for her, with the upcoming election featuring our history-making candidate running against that angry old guy.

4. Positive teen stories --good
I'm still recovering from that Frontline special the other night detailing the teen world online/on cell phone.

5. My kids both have that book
and LOVE it. They are grown, though, although they have both been liberal thinkers since a very young age.

I first read some of that book when I visited my son last Christmas.

7. Is that Crystal of 'never watched the Godfather' fame?
Edited on Thu May-22-08 10:37 PM by Richardo
If so, she's coming along nicely. (I got that book for my 13-yo nephew this Christmas - because he asked for it. I was proud to buy it for him!)

Nice story, Bunny! :patriot:

glad to see it's far more benign. :P

9. Awesome! I have a 14 yr old son who will start hs in the fall.
it's been fun to see him getting more interested in politics. It doesn't hurt that it's an election year, to get them more engaged.
 Good on ya! :hi:
