The cat's meds make him smell like waffles.
Discuss possible biochemical reasons why this should be so. I got nothing, and it's driving me nuts.

1. The only test I can think of would involve a toaster.
And that wouldn't end well.

10. like waffles or like syrup?
I ask for clarification because maple smelling urine can be a sign of a kidney problem.

16. We *are* just having fun
The meds themselves smell kinda like honey, and it's Imhotep himself, not his, er, refuse, that smells like waffles. I picked him up and he buried my face in his chest and he definitely smells like waffles. :)

His meds are for his FIV, and now that's he's out of boarding and back with us, he's puttering along nicely for a 12-year-old cat. His new vet kicks ass.

13. Nurse wife says
it could be an indicator of maple syrup urine disease (MSUD), also called branched-chain ketoaciduria. It's a children's disease.
