My kids are off being all Community/Politically involved...
and I am sitting around the house, eating potato chips. They are parading with a local Dem candidate the Nik interns for. BabyG had a blast painting the float.

The Tigers on so I am supporting their team while they are gone...yeah...yeah...that sounds good.

1. Is it part of their
court-ordered community service?

2. rofl...WannaB called me to tell me that there were
"cops by the float, MOM..." and "The sheriff's here". I told her to keep her head down and not make any eye contact.

3. That's cool
MrsG didn't raise no stoopid kids. And it's great to see the next generation carry all we fought for forward.

4. We started getting them involved (because they wanted to come)
in 2004 when we were working on Dean's campaign. Nik really got bit by the bug and this candidate she works for is awesome. MrG and I worked on her County Commisioner (with Nik) run a few years ago. She's now running for State Rep. Nik is excited to be able to vote for the first time this year, at 18 and more than a little pissed at me for doing nothing much but writing checks this year. I'm out for this cycle.

5. It's always good
to see kids caring about their society and getting involved. Tell Nik I'm proud of her!

As for you, well, we go through phases. Sometimes we have the energy and stamina to do it, and sometimes we don't. We just do what we can.

Khash.
