Public Service Announcement!
Always write your name and the name of your school in your textbooks - preferably, when you first get them.

Yesterday morning, I accidentally left my $70 chemistry textbook on the bus on the way to school. I kinda freaked out a little, thinking it was gone for good.

Today, I got called down to the office at school. I was like "huh? I don't think I did anything!". Well, apparently what happened was that the bus driver found the textbook, took it to the big lost and found office, and since it had my name and school written in it, they actually called my school to tell them that they found it and I could go pick it up. Nice of them, huh? Even better, the lost and found office is only a few blocks from my house.

Apparently, leaving textbooks on public transit is not a rare occurence. The two people in front of me in line at the lost and found office had both left textbooks on the bus/subway/streetcar.

So, kids, let this be a lesson to you. Write your name in your textbooks!
