So, it just occured to me that Jackie-O would not have been Jackie-O while in the White House.

Right? Because she became Jackie Onasis later on. Or did her maiden name begin with an O?

So, did she have a nickname in the White House? Or just "The First Lady"?

Her maiden name was Bouvier. Yes, same as Marge Simpson.

So, even in the 60s, they just called her "Jackie"? Fresher than "Mrs. Kennedy" but not something I'd expect from that era.

3. Depends - the media was still a lot more formal (some would say 'respectful')

So I recall media references to her as 'Mrs. Kennedy'.

In informal conversation, or when her friends spoke of her: 'Jackie'.

Disclaimer: But I was only in elementary school when they were in the White House.
