1. wow what a memorey
66 was just getting use to not reporting for school , got out in 65 and for the life of me i just don't rember the songs i use to hear , i would have to go thru our records to make a list like you have make , wished my mind was as sharp as yours , but been on heavy medicine so long my mind just can't seem to bring back the goods days and the good music of 66 , thanks for the list

2. Great list!
That was my birth year, I was looking for a list of songs from that year. I'm surprised that a lot of the songs I listen to were made that year - maybe it's my parents' fault.

EXCEPT - you forgot one of my all time favorites - Yellow Submarine. My parents to this day say that after the song came out (I was born in May, the album came out in August) I would sit there bouncing up and down happily everytime I heard the song.

Mine, too!

The #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 the day I was born was Barry Sadler's execrable "Ballad of the Green Berets." The full irony of that would not hit me for another 20 years, when I stupidly joined the military!

P.S. I used to like "Yellow Submarine" a lot, but it just doesn't do much for me anymore. Says a lot more about me than it does about the song....
