Am I a wuss?
I want to buy a DU bumper sticker for my car, but I am afraid that the bumper sticker will invite vandalism from some Toby Keith type of jackass.

Am I a wuss for being afraid to display my politics on my car?

1. Yes you are!
Buy the bumper sticker and display it with pride.

2. No you are not a wuss
You just want to protect your property from vandalism. You can buy this magnetic sheet material (sorry, don't know what it's called). Just paste your bumper sticker on it and put it on your car while you're driving, then take it off when you won't be around your car. Message still gets out, and your property stays safe.

3. Nope
Right-wing & fundie vandalism is real.

I had a Darwin fish on my old car - one time, someone pulled my windshield wipers off. The next time, they took the fish.

That mindset actually believes it is patriotic to stifle dissent. There is no way to ever get through to them.

Right now I only have my DU sticker on. Haven't seen any reaction one way or the other yet. I don't think you're a wuss for not putting the sticker on. Vandalism only costs the victim.

5. No, you're not a wuss
If I had a junker I might consider it, but it very well could invite vandalism. Freepers are fanatical and can be mean spirited.

6. The DU sticker shouldn't cause any problems...
I live in Salt Lake City and have had an anti-war sticker on my car, along with a peace pretzel and Bartcop sticker for several months. No vandalism that I could prove, being that I have an older car. However, I did get a badly punctured tire that I can't explain. I even had an 'Article 2, section 4, Impeach Bush, Stop the War' bumper sticker on, but decided to take it off due to the fact that I work with either Rush listening wingnuts or 'conservatives on weed' (I love that! Got it from DU last night and it so aptly fits the Libertarians I work with)--they have the 'Kill 'em all' mentality.

Go with the magnets, especially if you're going to go with the more subversive slogans.

7. Take a look at this
Another DU member road raged by a freeper because he has a sign in his rear window that says "Where are the weapons?"

10. No you are not
I won't put one on my car either because I have a family. Why invite trouble from some idiot who disagrees with my politics.

11. No, But It Is A Tough Choice.
I was a little apprehensive about it myself. I fear no man, but with a family in the car the situation changes dramatically. I have not seen any overt reaction to the sticker, positive or negative, but I pity the fool(s) who would try any hooliganism based on a bumper sticker.
