"Drug-Free Zones"... WTF Is That All About??
Is it an admission of defeat... an admission that the war-on-drugs is a failure?

If something is illegal to begin with, why should it be MORE illegal in one place than any place else?

WORK ZONE... SPEED LIMIT 50... FINES DOUBLED.

Oh really? So you're admitting that we're all speeders. But HERE (and only here) we're making it MORE of a crime and more of a fine if you speed.

Just thinking out loud,
-- Allen

1. Every time I pass a school
& see the "Drug-free zone" signs up, it reminds me of how many people believe that saying something makes it so. Sort of like * in front of a background with the words "Making corporations accountable".

2. Yes, that is it exactly.
They came up with that so they could double a felony on people who committed a crime near a school. So, if you had, say pot on you and a gun you faced two type 1 felonies instead of a misdermeanor and a felony.
Just more bullshit from our leaders, who can't solve any problem, only make more.

3. In the time-honored tradition
of being "ALL Talk", our fearless leaders believe in putting up useless signs to show how tough they are on drugs or guns or what-have-you. It's much easier to put up a sign than it is to figure out why people might want to light up or carry a piece.

5. Right
If you are going to sell drugs, think about that when you decide where to live. People still get the added penalty even if they are selling from their own home and not to people using the playground, church, play ground, or school. I am not implying that anyone here would sell drugs, of course.

6. Another inane "Tough onCrime" bullshit job...
Dumb-ass Prosecuter, prolly a ReTHUG wants to show the electorate that *HE* is the "Tough on Crime" candidate, unlike his weenie Democrat opponent, who'll let the pushers back on the street in 48 hours...Never mind that our "Caped Crusader" has to turn 'em loose in 72...
It's electioneering bull-pucky, nothing more.

Just like the screaming for MORE gun laws everytime there's a school shooting. Duh. show me ONE locale or state where it's legal for a 16-yr-old to carry a concealed weapon, much less take one to school....Right. There isn't, but the Prosecuters yammer on about how they're gonna shove MORE laws through the state assemblies anyway...and some dipstick of a legislator gets on the band wagon and away you go!
