Just back from the Dead show at Jones Beach, NY
Wow.
They are back in form. Phil's voice has not sounded so strong in years. Bobby (now with white beard) filled a lot of gaps. Joan Osborne is fantastic on the Jerry and PigPen songs, and having both drummers back helps a lot.
All in all, a really good show.
Set list not complete. lost my paper...

Love Light
St. Stephen
US Blues
Touch of Grey
Terrapin Station
Samson and Delila
The Eleven
Morning Dew

and others I can't remember right now...too excited to sleep for some reason... nudge nudge wink wink, know what I mean?

Three sets, no opener. They were in a jamming mood. Show went till midnight, started at 7:05 or so.

Took our niece, it was her first Dead show. We had not been in a couple of years... what a change for the better.

Can't wait for the fall tour now. Going to try to hit several shows then.

Peace, out.

4. Oh man, I forgot Joanie was touring with them!
She's one of my favorite singers. I cried when Jerry died - actually had to pull my car over to the side of the road for awhile when they announced it on the radio. I only got to see them twice, once with Santana (and fond as I am of the Dead, Carlos still blew 'em away).
