On-line review of the Bush action figure

Here's a review somebody wrote (giving it one-half star and titled "False advertising") for the Bush action figure offered by KB Toys:

Watch President Chickenhawk get his jingo on - to the tune of one
million taxpayer dollars! Never mind that one American a day has been
killed in Iraq since that day that he declared "Mission accomplished." Never mind that he never finished his own military service - going AWOL for the last 18 months from his cushy post in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam years. Never mind that virtually no one in his administration save Colin Powell bothered to serve in the military during the Vietnam conflict. Doesn't he look great in his flight suit? Don't you want him to lie to you for four more years, while he and Cheney and Ashcroft shred the few remaining pages of the Constitution? Sure you do! Buy this action figure! Vote for President Chickenhawk! Get more American soldiers killed! If it's good for Halliburton, it's good for the USA!

Salute me!!!!! If all it takes to become one is to sit beside one, then I qualify! My husband was a fighter pilot in the Navy and I've flown with him (in a little Cesna, tho') many times.

Though I suppose it could be said that the review wasn't really a review, though I think it was review enough.

A fake toy about the fake president "leading" a fake war in a fake democracy to make another fake democracy...

I think that is HILARIOUS.

I got a catalog that has the Bush action figure and the new Clinton action figure.
Clinton is 1/2 inch taller and speaks one more phrase than Bush!
Even as an action figure, Clinton is better!

I have no experience with this product. However, I find it egregiously inaccurate to designate George W. Bush as a Naval Aviator. My husband was a Naval fighter pilot, during the Vietnam War.
His wings and carrier qualification were hard-earned. Many apply, very few are chosen. I'm sorry, but Mr. Bush is not one of them.

I couldn't find a link on that webpage.

Disgusts me.

We don't have free speech to criticize the government anywhere. Not on the web, not in reviews, not in the media, not blah blah blah.

Wouldn't be surprised if AssKKKroft called KB Toys and told them to pull the review. But we can rest assured that if there was a Clinton doll, and someone reviewed as "Not realistic - doll wears pants and has no cigar and doesn't come with lying option", those reviews would stay there forever.

It is supposed to be a review of the product, and as the product hasn't been released yet they could argue that you couldn't possible have any comments on whether it is any good or not. It's not as if they're obliged to provide a platform for a priori, moral objections to their products.

However, I wish they hadn't spotted it for a few weeks!

Maybe they'll start re-thinking things if they get enough protests!

He was in the Texas Air National Guard. And couldn't even manage to show up for duty in that creampuff posting. Loser.

And have a picture of the empty GWB box (paintshopped, of course).

All this is based upon is a poorly conceived photo-op, perhaps the worst ever in Presidential history, where a man deserves the lable "worst President Ever", who deserted the Texas Air National Guard during wartime, was presented as the shining macho-man hero (and perhaps deserving of a mandate for anything he decrees as a result) for the whordes of Republican parents desperate to further indoctrinate their children to the rank learnings of their neo-fascist beliefs. Not only is this product an ill-conceived, ill-timed product of our ill times, it's an outright expose of Republican tactics (ie lie your head off , and, hand-in-hand with our corporate bedfellows, be as openly brazen as possible helping concerned Republican parents with propagandizing Republican (not American) concerns...Plus it's factually in error, Bush was never a Navy pilot, landing a plane on a carrier is something an awol Texas Air National Guard pilot does not learn overnight.

What's next, a helmeted Dick Cheney action figure (complete with heart monitors and pacemaker) leading the forces of Haliburton in its effort to rebuild Iraq?

When do action figures of Sadaam and Al Qaeda come out, surely for boys to play war they need an enemy?

I'm not even gonna bother checking out that site again.

But just so it sticks, add in "Product solidly constructed, well painted. Seems sturdy enough, well packaged. Sure to be a collectible item after fake president ends up in prison after impeachment and Hague Trial. Buy them now."

Before, they made it seem as though bush landed the plane on the carrier, now they let people know he turned the controls over to the pilot for the landing.
