Pilot Attacked By Stowaway Cat
<snip>

A BANGLADESHI pilot needed first aid after a stowaway cat got into the cockpit of his aircraft and attacked him, a report said today.

The cat pounced on the pilot after managing to get into the cockpit of the plane flying from the northeastern city of Sylhet to the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, a report in the New Age daily said.

The pilot, who works for the national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, was not seriously hurt.

1. The cat is going end up at Gitmo.
C'mon...you know this is the first thing Bush thought of when told about this by his handlers. It's exactly the "important" kind of news they are telling him.

4. Perhaps This Is One of the Pilots...
...who lost their guns.

(For the benefit of those unfamiliar with the story, it's currently being discussed on the Justice/Public Safety board.)

6. Maybe the cat...
...stole the gun.

If I can blame the dog for those 'mysterious' odors that appear every once in a while I can blame the cat for this.

9. Formerly, pilots were allowed to have guns...
This began back when "conventional" hijackings were common. Not many pilots actually armed themselves.

Funny thing: Guns in the cockpit were made illegal in July of 2001. Odd coincidence--same time Ashcroft decided to stop flying commercial & Chimpy decided on a l-o-n-g vacation.

10. Actually, we haven't been able to have guns in the cockpit since
1988, which is when we had to start going through passenger screening when we showed up to fly. Prior to that, we just flashed our ID and walked right past security. That all stopped after a digruntled fired employee used his ID (which should have been confiscated when he was fired) to bypass security with a gun and board a flight his former supervisor was riding on. He killed the pilots, and ultimately all on board when the plane crashed.

We now have the FFDO (Federal Flight Deck Officer) program, in which an undisclosed number of pilots have been trained and certified to carry a weapon while flying.

That cat would have had second thoughts had he/she known about that program!

3. Heathcliff goes bad
It's sad to see old Heathcliff turn to terrorism. But we should have seen the warning signs when he killed two of the Cadillac Cats.

(I hope someone remembers this cartoon)
