Warning, frustrated rant.
I am so sick & tired of giving a shit. This caring about other people & the world sucks. I seem to spend all my time & energy beating my head against the wall worrying about all the bad crap going on in the world & my own back yard. Right now I wish I could be a sheeple. I wish I didn't know/care about all the horrible shit happening out there. I want to not feel anything anymore. I'm tired of hurting, I tired of feeling helpless, hopeless & cynical.
I am sorry for being such a pain, but some days & weeks I just get worn out. Maybe if I just didn't feel everything so strongly I'd be alright. But so far I have not found a way to shut if off.
Thank you DUers for listening, for caring, & for working to make things better.

4. Bartcop on his site
talks about burning out. That's why when you go to his site sometimes he talks about television shows, rock bands, food, alcohol and women.

He says he has to have other interests or he would burn out on the politics.

I tell my brother, "Turn off C-Span, take a walk. It's Spring".

5. You're not alone with these feelings.
The old matrix joke about the blue pill is really beginning to pall. Rant, take a break, do whatever it takes to recharge.

shut the tv off. shut the radio off. shut that brain wave off. go for walk in the woods.take note of the beauty around you. pretty soon you will feel peaceful and then realize this is why you care so much. I'm sure you will be smiling inside!

7. I usually can do something fun & feel better.
Right now there seems to be too many personal issues as well as the world issues. I'm also not sleeping very well, so that does not help. I go through phases where I have vivid, violent dreams and wake up feeling like I have not slept at all.
And people wonder why I like to drink so much.

11. I considered that, but hypocrisy has never been one of my strengths.
And I don't like country music.

10. I know exactly what you mean,
and there are plenty of times when I feel that way myself. I've been fighting since Raygun's election when I was a freshman in high school, and I'm TIRED TIRED TIRED TIRED. I'm really beginning to know the true meaning of the phrase "Ignorance is bliss!"

That's one of the many things DU is for, and why I'm so grateful for it. Not only do we have a safe place to rant with others who understand and who feel the same way, but we're also able to lift up each other and get recharged. Carry on, the fight is worth it!

12. My favorite T-shirt says "If Ignorance is Bliss,
Why Aren't More People Happy."
Thanks everyone for helping me feel a little better.
