Dates indicate when a single reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

1. I like them all but voted for Where Did Our Love Go?
Because that's the first thing that popped into my head.

On a different day I'd probably give a different answer.

How about You're Pushing Too Hard by The Seeds?

2. I Want to Hold Your Hand.
I almost voted for the Supremes, just to overcome the (understandable and unavoidable) Beatles-centricism of this poll.

It all came down to that guitar riff, in the end.

4. I'm sure he'll put that one in the next poll.
Too many good options for just ONE poll, y'know?

5. "Rag Doll" Was the Only Song....
...in the history of MusicRadio 77 (WABC New York) to go from "Pick Hit of the Week" one week to #1 the next week. And then it stayed at #1 for two months.

11. The intro to Don't Worry Baby is
about as lush as it gets. Unparalleled in 40 years.

14. Wilson wrote that for one of Phil Spector's girl groups, if I remember
Phil rejected it(!), and so a disappointed Brian recorded it with the Beach Boys. It's a piece of pure pop greatness.

10. THe Four Seasons had a bunch of cool
songs. I really liked Sherry and Walk Like a Man.

But I voted for I Want to Hold Your Hand. It was the Beatle first big hit.

13. I want to hold your hand.
Because it's one of the first songs I can remember; I was 4 in 1964, and I remember singing along with my mom and the radio.
