69. How to make homemade "Boone's Farm"
Step 1: Get the gas can out of your garage.
Step 2: Decant into stemware.
Step 3: Drink.

It's not any worse than the kind that comes in the bottle from the store.

68. No Thunderbird?
Thunderbird was the centerpiece of the just-before-mid parties we held.

Three times a year, we'd have to work from 11:30pm to 7:30am for a month. Two days before the mid kicked in, we'd have the just-before-mid party, which involved walking from this place...

(this was where we worked)

to this place...

" (this was where we lived; the building with the white roof that's kinda to the right was the natatorium that housed the pool the German swimmers practiced for the 1933 Olympics in; sorry I don't have a better picture of this)

a distance of about 12 miles...wearing rucksacks and drinking Thunderbird straight from the bottle.

76. You were on Teufelsberg?
The radar installation sure looks interesting...

Anyway: they wanted to build an espionage museum with an attached five-star hotel there, but the plans got stopped by a local environment group. At the moment all (de-)construction work is pending until a new investor is found.
The Teufelsberg itself (with the abandoned station) is used for sports: Ski during the winter, free climbing and free gliding in summer.
