Poll question: Favorite Replacements Album
I would choose LET IT BE with PLEASED TO MEET ME at a close second.

BTW, has anyone heard the latest Paul Westerberg solo album? The review I read in Stereophile magazine last month was favorable. It said that it was the best work from him in a long time. I think they gave it 3.5 stars, if I remember correctly.

1. Great poll!
I chose Let it Be. But Pleased to Meet Me is up there. And for what it is, Stink is a great record as well.

Phenomenal, underrated band.

5. Tie for Tim & Let it Be
But I voted for Let it Be - I just adore that cover of Black Diamond, long before covering KISS was kitschy.

9. I found that 12" single about 10 years ago
I gladly paid $20 for it. I think it's fairly rare.

12. Yes, that's it. It also has "20th Century Boys"
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 01:20 PM by Intelsucks
I think there are only about 1000 of them in existence, but don't hold me to that exact number. For all practical purposes, it's pretty rare.

on edit: Maybe it's 1500 copies... It's bothering me that I can't remember.:-)

8. 1-5
but chose Sorry Ma. I still 20 years later, see a light changing to red, hear Westerberg's teenage growl telling me to run it. Johnny's gonna die was pure genius for such a young group.

Paul seems to be back to making good music. Stripped down and bare, relying, once again, on the strength of the song, not on the production. I like what I have heard.

11. Cut my teeth
On Pleased to Meet Me. Although, Let it Be and Tim (along with Pleased to Meet Me) really comprise the holy trilogy for the Replacements.

13. All are great but TIM is the best
I mean, Left of the Dial, Bastards of Young, and Here Comes a Regular all on ONE album?!? Any one of those would be a career high for most bands. I love Let It Be but Tim pushed the artistic side of the band just a bit further for me. God do I miss this band! Argggh!

PS: If you've never heard Tommy's Bash-n-Pop cd, it's actually a pretty decent listen, with at least three Placemat level songs.
