45. Fourth it!!!
Key West is great. Can't beat the Conch Republic. It certainly starts with rum runners. The people there are so mellow, friendly and pleasent. Water is beautiful, coral beaches aren't the best for lounging. The funky history of this place is so cool. Duval street is great. I think N-Awlins, LA is a close second though...Kevin.

The only thing that keeps it from being perfect are those miserably cold winters.

But, I guess it's the price you pay for all of the good things.

22. No other city comes close IMO.
It has everything I like, good foor, great music, and more bars per capita than any other city in America. An added plus is that no one judges you (aside froma few freak fundies in the French Quarter) for having fun, regardless of how you like to have fun.

38. Agreed. I like SF or S.D. best overall, but
New Orleans people just know how to live, eat drink and party the best of anywhere.

Christ, that city rules. I went there for the first time just last year and was blown away. I imagine Rome must've had a similar energy 2000 years ago, y'know? Feels like you're in the center of things.

Are we talking about the same NYC? There must be ten thousand bars in the City. In New York you find everything, including good beer.

24. i am a beer snob, i admit.
so i can be hard to please. i didn't go to that many bars. but the concept of microbrews did not really seem to exist. there was a brooklyn brewery, i think. it was better that bud but not that good. mostly i ended up drinking bottled beer that had long boat rides. never a good thing if you are a snob like me. the liquor store that i went to was the same story. i'm sure there is good beer there somewhere. i just did not come across it.
and really, i had to dig for things to complain about, i loved it there. i just have to dish a little on behalf of my hometown, that's all.
peace.
