Please Join the Democratic Underground Delegation in DC on April 25th
Yes, we are organizing a DU Delegation in DC for the March for Women rally in Washington DC on April 25th. I'm even going to order a banner from the organization for us to march with during the event.

If you want more information about the event you can visit the website http://www.marchforwomen.org/ or pm me with your questions.

If you are planning to attend and wish to join our group, please send me a private message with your name and email address so I can keep you up to date with our group and the event.

I will truly be there in spirit, but cannot make it in person from my home in Seattle. But my heart is with all of you. After reading the article today in the LA Times about what's going on in South Dakota, this march is more important than ever. :thumbsup::loveya:

6. Will there be local marches as well? I signed up locally
but see no indication of local activity. I'll be in DC (providing hubby's cancer is in check) the first week of May for another advocacy campaign, can't make it twice, I'm afraid.

9. hmm haven't been to a Choice March in a while
used to go a lot in the 80s. Sigh. Sounds like a good idea. Wish we didn't have to keep doing this, though. Lately it seems like Sandra Day O'Connor( and a few other justices) are the only things standing between us and a return to the fifties. All the more reason then.

at home probably... not sure how many areas were going to be doing something, it may all focus on DC

I agree, we're getting too old to have to still NEED to do this, but we do nonetheless...

but my schedule just won't permit it. I just received a solicitation in the mail yesterday to support this event, so I think I will be doing that instead.

13. my sister and myself are tentatively planning to go
we are not quite sure how we are going to do it but we feel its a "must attend" event. I have some non DU friends that are planning to go also from New York. :hi:

16. There may be some carpooling from the Philly area
as you know, the 24th of April is the Philly gathering for DU and I know some of the Philly DUers are planning on roadtripping down for the day to DC. It's a 2hour drive and you can park your car in N. MD and take the subway downtown.

So if you like, you can co-ordinate the 2 events together. Drink and socialize with the Philly folks on Saturday and road trip down on Sunday to the event.
