What's a "good" GRE score?
I just got done taking the GREs...I wonder what scores are considered good?

I got a 630 verbal and a 640 math

i got 750 math 710 verbal but do not know what to do for grad school

2. Those are good scores
Not outstanding scores, but good, solid scores that along with a strong application (good letters, a good GPA, a BA or BS from a quality university or college) will get you in to where you want to go.

5. do you need a subject?
my grad school was pretty insistent on a good subject score and that helped my fair overall

7. Depends on what you are going to do with them.
What are you getting your grad degree in??

I made 710 on the math part, but it was a poor indicator as to how I would do in grad school. I tried to get a PhD in economics, and with that GRE score, I was accepted into a program immediately. But I still could NOT pass my math econ course, and the math exam at the end of the program. Being 45 at the time didn't help, either. You need to do that stuff when you are much younger.

Of course, it never fails: you get the absolute WORST profs for courses you have the most trouble with. And I did.
