11. One that knows how to be happy
Without addictive behaviors, such as alcohol and internet porn. It's good to find a mate that comes from a solid background, meaning, knowing they were loved , weren't beaten as kids, etc. If said person has gone through this, then they MUST have successfully graduated thru therapy, in order to be any good to themselves or their significant other. Just saying.

13. Someone who.........
doesn't put their own needs in front of yours, who is totally selfless, someone who wants your happiness as much as you want theirs, someone who doesn't put their work before you, someone who takes what you have to say seriously no matter how much it hurts to face the truth, someone who doesn't lie about you, someone who takes responsibility for their own mistakes..............LOL wait I have gotten away with my self haven't I LOL well thats a start anyway! ;)

15. When I found my boo--he was insecure
and he wondered if he'd find a liberal, atheist, educated, multicultural, etc, kind of gal. And I was in dispair when I met him, knowing I was too funky, leftish, agnostic, smart-assed, and eclectic for most guys to understand. When we started talking, well, I was already a few whiskey-n-coke's in the bag, so he took me home and all, after we danced a bit, but anyway--sometimes you find somebody who really does appreciate you--I did. And I appreciated him--we just kind of spoke the right language to one another, and took off from there.

18. Hey, that's a really nice story. It's normal and sweet and redemptive and it sounds true.
This being the Lounge, of course, I was hoping to hear something more along the lines of I woke up one morning and there was this guy in my bed and I had not a clue who he was or how he got there so when he woke up I started talking to him and we clicked and so while I know that some people say getting black-out drunk and picking up strangers isn't a good idea and although I do sometimes wonder if my friend Melissa was kidnapped and sold into slavery on one of our weird party nights cause I never saw her again all I can say is it worked for me and I really don't remember anything about it

But normal and sweet and redemptive is good

A willingness to watch endless Godzilla movies never hurts the cause either. :D

20. And kind.
Intelligence, humor and kindness are deal breakers with me. Well, I've been known to allow wiggle room on the intelligence front because there are many, many genuinely good and funny men who aren't rocket scientists. I admit I got waaaaaaaaaaaaay lucky with CMW who is my match in every respect. And yeah, he likes Godzilla movies. Bonus: he introduced me to Russ Meyer's body of work. :7
