7. No, but I have an embarrassingly high regard for "Your Number Or Your Name"
not Beatle-high, mind you, but for a throwaway song on a debut album of a band that didn't exactly live up to the Next Beatles hype, I like it a lot.

3. "Please Mr. Postman"
It was a prime example of how the Beatles (and the Stones) "conquered" America...by taking our own music and smacking us hard with it, right across the chops.

I also like it because when you read later accounts from George Martin, it turns out that John Lennon was extremely self-conscious about his vocals and was always tinkering about with multi-tracking, reverb, ect. It's similar to Lennon's take on "Dizzy Miss Lizzie"...while McCarney headed straight for the turbo-charged Little Richard jugular on songs like "I Saw Her Standing There," Lennon hung back just a little bit on the tempo while ratcheting up the intensity.

4. "I Saw Her Standing There"
I've always loved that song since I was little. Even though "All My Loving" is another one of my favorites. Generally however I prefer the later Beatles... :P

5. Hi LeftOfSelf-Centered...
welcome to DU! :hi:

I can't believe I'm the only one who voted for All My Loving. That's a great song!

6. Hi redqueen
and thanks for the welcome! :hi:

Yeah "All My Loving" is a fun song, it's fun to play and you can harmonize throughout (like the Beatles do on the last verse).

That being said I just finished recording a cover of "Dear Prudence" which is one of my all time favorite Beatles songs...

8. "AML", because I loved, loved, loved Paul's voice.
