3. That kind of IP gets sold.
It has value to the creditors and thus it is likely that some company (EA is notorious for this, as is Eidos) will buy the rights and the existing content and slap something shoddy and degrading to the fans together. There are enough idiots who will buy it for the publisher's label and the name recognition.

Intellectual Property is extremely valuable in the gaming industry, someone told me once that the "Mario" character is worth as much as the rest of the entirety of Nintendo. Slap the Mario franchise on anything and sell 20 million copies @ $50 a pop for a cool $1B in forecasted profits, they release between 2-5 games a year with the Mario trademark content. You could make a Mario game teaching GAAS and GAAC with all the text in Esperanto and still make money. So, who's up for a game of Mario instru kontado?

4. I used to joke that DNF would be released the same day as GNR's Chinese Democracy.
Well, guess I can no longer make that joke!

8. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.
