Poll question: How caffeinated are you?
(Now somebody go post this in GD!:))

As a Southerner, I used to live on sweet iced tea. A few years ago when I was stumbling towards figuring out that I was lactose-intolerant (and later that I'm celiac), I gave up caffeine in the hope that it would help stop the explosive-- er-- bodily functions. Instead I stopped having nightmares nearly every night and started sleeping through the night, every night for the first time in decades. So I've stuck with it. Not preaching, though, but I'm happy it worked for me. (Now if only I could give up the heroin...:))

21. One thing worse than nicotine withdrawal - caffeine.
Speeding off to make third pot. Coming to screaming halt - oooooo, chocolate.

2. I used to drink a lot of coffee
Not so much anymore. Somehow I slowly got out of the habit of drinking more than one mug in the am. Somedays I don't even have that. I avoid drinking anything with caffeine in it in the late afternoon/early evening.

It takes beer to bring me down.

Well, unless I'm drinking them together...

22. Starbucks test marketed a beer and coffee drink combination.
This was years ago at Rays, a popular Seattle restaurant. I tried it and it was interesting. It made caffeine tolerable for me. It didn’t taste too bad either.

4. Not today.
Yesterday I drank a large Mexican coke, so I was jumping.

Today I am drinking de-caffeinated ice tea.

5. I am pretty close to none.
I just don’t do well with it. I drink non-caffeinated herbal tea in the morning and evening. I also appreciated the humor in the question. Mormons drink Mormon tea, which contains ephedra.

8. No crap?
So they don't drink tea, but they do steep ephedra? Why does that strike me as funny? :)

12. The irony is they think they are better than those who consume caffeine.
One of the more interesting things I found about them, if it isn’t forbidden in the Book of Mormon/the only true religion, it is all fine and good.

So I chose "moderately."

7. Not much, but...
If I have too much caffeine, I don't sleep at night. But, if I don't have any, I get TERRIBLE headaches. So, I have one serving of tea a day. Either a cup of hot tea in the morning, or I drop a tea bag into my water bottle and put it in the fridge before going to bed, and carry that around the next day. One tea bag in the morning is enough to ward off the headaches without making me twitchy.

I think this makes me "somewhat" addicted.

15. There's always Anacin
I couldn't remember the name, and googling caffeine and aspirin revealed that studies suggest that caffeine, aspirin and acetaminophen combined are more effective against headache than either of the latter two alone. Now I don't know who's doing such studies, and having awful headaches when you go without caffeine sounds more like withdrawal symptoms (which I guess is why you call yourself somewhat addicted). But using Anacin (or Excedrin) might help you wean yourself the rest of the way, if you're so inclined.

9. I love coffee, tea and chocolate
Sometimes before I workout or before going to work, I'll chug a lukewarm venti coffee from Starbucks.

I usually go in cycles in how much I consume though. Right now I have something caffeinated every day, and I think I'm gonna quit cold turkey pretty soon and adjust that to once or twice a week.

14. I enjoy green tea. When I brew my own I use decaf, but otherwise I drink Arizona Iced Green tea
Which does have caffeine. I try to keep my caffeine intake fairly low, however.

16. I've cut back, improves pms symptoms!
A friend of mine who's a doctor (no, really. I know how bad that sounds, lol) had mentioned a correlation between caffeine/coffee intake and increased cystic nature of breasts, and increased PMS symptoms.

I had increased my coffee intake over the last few months, and man, did I notice... cut it back over the last month and I can live with myself and my body again...

I drink a mug of coffee in the mornings at work, and on weekends I hit the coffee house for a Latte or a Mocha. On rare occaisions, I'll have a cup of coffee with dessert when I go out to eat. And Maybe a couple of diet Coke's per week.

Wow- Maybe I should have put Moderate....
