15. I won't let them in - not my fault they didn't realize that was the exit they needed
Last time I'm taking the exit to get to a concert in Philly, so no suprise that the exit line is backed up a bit with all the people getting off that exit not only for the concert but a Philly's game too. So you get these idiots who think they can just cut in the front of that line but edging their way in right before the exit.

My friend's laughed at how brutal I was. I'll edge my car right up to the tailgate of the car in front of me - no cutting in front of me. Screw you!

Grow a spine and drive defensively; it shows a complete lack of confidence behind the wheel if you're going to let yourself get cut-off and it also increases the chance that you'll get rear ended when you hit the brakes.

19. Another thing....this time of year pisses me off! I HATE the heat!
as soon as it gets hot outside, the dumb-shits come pouring out of the fucking woodwork! People are louder, more obnoxious, and more irritable. What really pisses me off is when locals ( who have lived here all or most of their lives ) are out and about being more annoying than usual. " Oh, I'm so glad the summer has arrived...that was such a long winter"...

NO IT FUCKING WASN'T, YOU DUMB-SHIT!!! We had two significant snowfalls.....do these people really forget that quickly? You want oppressive heat and filthy, stinking humidity where sweat is constantly dripping down your face and your clothes are sticking to your body? GO TO FLORIDA!!!

28. You wouldn't like me in what you call "winter"
;)

I am so very happy that in Houston we really only have Summer with a slight cooling period at the end and beginning of each year. The rest of the time I am only miserable inside the office since no office building ever designed or built seems to understand anything but hot or cold.

It's finally getting warm here these days, such that I can recover from the meat-locker conditions in the office with a nice heat-soak in the car (doors closed, windows up, engine off, ahhhhhhhhhh...) Plus, as I am fully acclimated to these kinds of conditions (hay! I'm a native Texan :P) I don't start to sweat much until it's in the 90s.

My motto: I'd rather sweat than shiver!

Plus, you can always take clothing off if you're caught somewhere that gets too hot. The opposite is not so forgiving. If you don't have enough clothing in someplace that gets cold, you're SOL.

22. Right-wingers who pollute internet forums
Boston.com is a prime example. The forums/comments section of that site is full of sniveling right-wing crybabies shrieking whatever talk-radio nonsense they've heard about Obama. Fortunately, Massachusetts has a very small population of Republicans, but unfortunately they are the biggest bunch of whiners I've seen, probably to make up for their small numbers.

There's been some talk lately that the Boston Globe might fold and since these turds have such hatred for the Globe (just like they hate any publication that doesn't fellate Saint Ronnie and Saint George or pretend that conservative fantasies like cutting taxes for the rich benefits all of us should actually be taken seriously) all they've been doing lately is crowing how they can't wait until the Globe shuts its doors, etc. This, from the twenty-percenters who reject reality in every form and still insist that liberals have destroyed this country and only Republicans have a clue.

I refuse to debate right-wingers since they will just repeat ad nauseum whatever they've heard from Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, etc. Posting facts means nothing they'll just dismiss it as "liberal BS" if they don't like the contents. So any given article about politics over at that site invariably attracts dozens of "Obama is a socialist!" garbage comments from the mindless peanut gallery. I suppose it's a sign of their frustration that nobody takes them seriously, but to me it completely eliminates the concept of accurate journalism, if partisans can then trot along and post myths intended to counter actual facts.

27. We have that with DelawareOnline.com
you'd think we were a rabid - right wing state. Instead it's just the 10 whack jobs in Delaware that have probably 5 sock puppets each trying to make it seem the republicans own our state.

I was watching "Steal this Movie" on HBO - it's the biopic of Abby Hoffman. This is a Nixon tactic. Anytime you have someone out there that might oppose your view point, you make sure you plant 1-2 folks in the audience to create the illusion of opposition. That's how Nixon fought Abbie Hoffman - by generating dissent against him from within the Nixon admin.

(like depicted here http://www.browninnovations.com/sonicbeam.html) and turn it into an anti-cell-phone-conversation portable device. Of course, advertisers latched onto this technology before anyone else, but just imagine being able to project a very loud buzzing noise, or some other excessively annoying sound, at higher volumes than the surrounding noise. And only the person you are directing it at will hear it! :D

24. CONFESS!!! threads.
(Not really.)

What really pisses me off are

* people who stand right in the doorway of a subway car or bus and won't move to let others on or off

* people who slowly and obliviously lead a crowd up the stairs onto a train platform or out of a subway station and then just park themselves at the top of the stairs, often when a train is about to close its doors and leave the station

* not-morbidly-obese people who take up two seats on a train or bus, often with their bags or belongings in one of them, and get angry when you want to sit down and make them move their shit

* young men, usually, who have no conception of other people's personal space on public transportation and who sit with their legs spread wide open

And this is just for starters!

43. Sure
I've got no problem for reasonable disagreement and discussion, it helps bring to life the issues we read about and study. I do have a problem with people, no matter what age (and every time I've had an older person in my class they do this) who try and hijack the lecture to either tell stories about how their past life is relevant to the current discussion, treat the professor like fools whose doctorates mean nothing in comparison to what they know, or hold up class time so they can get things explained to them in excessive detail (this is what studying and good note-taking is for).

Here are two examples: a 67 year old man, who was a former Evangelic pastor, always bickered with my professor about the role religion played in Europe. The professor tried to explain to him that yes, religion was important to the formation of Europe, the focus of the class was on the political institutions of Modern Europe and as such talking about the Reformation would not help us understand the European Union. The man then decided to make a handout for the entire class that had nothing to do with anything we had studied. He also called (then) Senator Obama, "that black fellow."

A woman in her late 40s in my German class wastes everyone's time because she refuses to learn why she keeps making the same mistakes and instead takes 5 minutes to translate a simple sentence because she has invested nothing in learning. As a result we all suffer because that is time we could be learning new concepts.

49. The rules are the same no matter what the age
If you want to continue your education then come to class with an open mind and respect for the education of everyone else in your class. Contribute to class in a positive way, but don't hog the floor. Most importantly, if you take a class realize that you are making an investment of personal time to do the work necessary to keep up.

I can think of people who are in there early 20s who break the rules and it is just as annoying. In my experience older learners break the rules more than younger ones.

37 sounded like a good cutoff date. Nothing scientific about it, just looked outside a window and said, "37 will do."

I should also add that I've been quite fond of some of the older people in my classes who are amazingly smart and just came back to school because they love learning; generally, however, the older people come to class slightly closed mind and then don't invest the time and energy it takes to learn.

Edit: Also, the Arsenal match made me really sad :( Sunday against Chelsea could be a good one though.

50. That doesn't bother me near as much as all the used scratch-off tickets
littered everywhere when they don't win.

I've considered writing to the Texas Lottery Commission for an idea that could curb the littering forever. Give away a free ticket (like to one of the "lesser" winning scratch-offs) for every 100 used tickets picked up and turned in. It might make for more work for the lottery people and store clerks, but it would stop the littering overnight :D
