Classic TV shows that should not be made into movies? (Or should not have been made.)
Edited on Mon May-11-09 06:24 AM by WillBowden
I'm going with Bewitched. Bad enough they replaced Darrin on TV, but the movie sucked the fun out of the show.

On edit:

Gilligan's Island should not be remade. Ever. Never. No. Nyet. Nein. Uh-uh.

6. They should never have made the second episode of Lost in Space.
The first was pretty scary, but someone at CBS chickened out and dumbed down the show after that!

7. Dr. Smith would have been an awesome bad guy...
Instead of a whiney namby-pamby "good" guy.

3. The Flinstones
Typically, any cartoon to live action movie is going to suck... But The Flinstones cranked the suck to '11'.

4. It may be too late for Gilligan's Island
There's already plans for a movie. I think the movie is only in the planning stages. IMDB.com has it listed for a 2011 release.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1361548/

Supposedly, producers want Michael Cera to play Gilligan and Beyonce to play Ginger (why!?!).

8. You know what they do to the messenger who brings bad news...?
Just sayin'....

(Of course I should have expected it. Doesn't mean I like the idea, but meh, it'll suck and be gone in a week soooooo...)

5. Seeing the trailer of "Land of the Lost" made me cringe
That is a classic children's tv show that should not have been made into a movie

9. Sigh...
I just went and watched the trailer. I did see two humorous lines, but the rest of it looks quite unimpressive.

13. The re-done TV show was bad enough...
Now we have to suffer Will Ferrell?!

What do these directors have against us 40-somethings?

12. Y'all can hate me for it, but "The Addams Family"
I loved Raul Julia in general... thought Angelica Huston was elegant... Christina Ricci was button-cute )(in that "just you wait... i'll get you" sort of way), and Christopher Lloyd was his usual scene-stealing self.

~BUT~

Those movies were such a train-wreck.

And no one was about to top John Aston and Carolyn Jones.
No one.

15. Beverly Hillbillies shouldn't have been made.
Even though the casting couldn't have been more perfect, it still sucked.

On the other hand, around that same time Maverick was spot on.
