Thank goodness for cooking spray.

It use to be that when you made a cake you had to use lard and flour to grease the pan but we now have cooking spray. It makes greasing the pan a lot easier. do you like spray or do you do it the old fashioned way.

1. It depends on the type of thing you are baking.
The basic cooking spray is just canola oil. The "Baker's Secret" stuff has flour in it. Usually I just use vegetable shortening.

2. I refuse to use spray - unnecessary environmental waste.
Fill a spritzer with some veggie oil, or jut grab a half TBSP of butter and grease the damn pan.

All that waste just because people don't want to get their fingers greasy for the four seconds until they wash them.

4. Heh
I actually uttered this sentiment out loud an hour ago as I bought some "spray olive oil" today.

It was the first time I've seen it, and got suckered. I used to use spray stuff on grill and it was worth it. I guess I should just break down and buy a spritzer.

:hi:

6. I'm with you.
Plus, the preservatives, etc., in most cooking sprays makes it REALLY bad. Avoid it!

5. When I was a kid, I passed out while spraying a pan.
I'm still afraid of the stuff, though I did see some pretty colors and a beast that looked strikingly like Sean Cassidy with tentacles before I came to.

7. I've tried cooking with cooking spray.
The food just comes out raw.
