Cat has thumbs
Mr Mittens, a polydactyl cat has six digits on all four paws.

His owner, Christchurch man Tom Donaldson, was working in Coalgate, New Zealand when a cat that had befriended him gave birth to two kittens in the bush at the back of the house he was renovating. "I decided to turn them both into city cats, so I brought them home," he said.

I've seen cats with extra digits before, but this one really looks like a thumb. If Mittens learns how to use it, that man is doomed.

1. That is not a cat. That is the FUTURE.
Bow down before your new masters.

2. We are SO screwn.
I've always said that the only thing that keeps my cats from taking over the world (and turning doorknobs) is the absence of thumbs. Good job.

4. I wonder how long it will take for
them to solidify their power over the whole world. Watch for cats with thumbs!

6. Beat me to it!
But, may I add, if I can be of any particular service to our new masters, such as providing "scritchies" or extra catnip, they should not hesitate to call on me.

5. The secret is out. Cats have been hiding their retractable thumbs
from man for centuries and now this fool cat has not only shown them, he's been photographed with them.
