So, DU Lunge, What's for dinner?
For me, it was mackerels, freshly caught in Cape Cod by my son, smoked over maple planks.

German potato salad on the side, and a bottle of Blue Moon wheat ale.

5. Excellent!
I'll have to try the Great Lakes Grassroots Ale; never had it, but the ads reminded me of Cape Ann Brewing Company:

That way we can enjoy them and minimize the bad effects.

zucchini, onions, green, yellow, and red peppers, grape tomatos. Not soaked with olive oil, but brushed, yes, with a bit of salt and lots of fresh ground pepper. Those come already on the skewer from the store. Easy.

I'll rub the sirloin strip with salt, pepper and whatever spices strike me and cook it in the oven just under broil. I'll sliver it and eat in a tomato basil wrap with sauteed onions and peppers and whatever veggies I throw in. I may work asparagus and potato in there.

I do.

Soak it in brine and then toss it on the grill, husk and all.

The husks give the corn a smoky-buttery flavor.

23. Linguine & ricotta-spinach tortelloni with homemade porcini mushroom marinara sauce
These:

And this:

And tonight I'm using Muir Glen fire roasted tomatoes for the sauce...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51M1F60RMCL._SL500_AA280_PIbundle-12,TopRight,0,0_AA280_SH20_.jpg

...which will also include porcini mushrooms, chopped onion, chopped garlic, extra virgin olive oil, parsley, basil, fresh ground black pepper, and oregano.

Half linguine, half tortelloni, topped with the sauce and fresh grated Parmesan cheese.

It's good to be Italian (and also an Italian who knows how to cook).

47. BBQ cheddar burgers
We ground our own beef and I made the BBQ sauce from a recipe cribbed from Tyler Florence's BBQ chicken episode. The burgers were grilled to a nice medium rare, and coated, liberally of course, on both sides with the BBQ sauce just before putting the cheddar on. The rolls were brushed with more of the BBQ sauce and the burgers were served with onion and tomato for those that wanted it. On the side, we had some homemade cole slaw, two different cucumber dishes, and most importantly, margaritas!
