I would personally like to thank the NBA refs
FOR CHEATING FOR THE FUCKING FAKERS TONIGHT!

Kerisssst - same identical play on Game #1 on Game #3, and the fuck Ariza is "hurt" - if he leaves to the locker room for evaluation on a injury, he should not be allowed to return AT ALL.

ILLEGAL DISQUALIFIED PLAYER CHEATED ON OUR NUGGETS!

And Stern, here's a friendly FUCK YOU on your dreams of Kobe vs LeBron - I guarantee you a PLUMMENT on your viewership.

1. I would be mad too
if my team made the same boneheaded mistake on an inbounds play not once, but twice in the same series.

Also, Trevor is the man.

2. They always do that when it's a large market team vs a small market team. It's all about the money.
See the 2002 WCF for a really, really blatant example.

3. Unless the refs spiked Denver's Gatorade with Idiot Juice
I'm not sure how this can be laid at anyone but the Nuggets feet.

4. Hell if I know, I didn't watch the game.
But I've seen large market teams in general and the Lakers in particular benefit from enough highly questionable officiating, on such a consistent basis during playoff games, that I'd be highly surprised if the officiating was fair.

5. Ones perception on which teams are getting screwed by the refs
often have a great deal to do with which team(s) one is rooting for. And if the Large vs Small market thing were true, how on earth did the Spurs ever make the Finals, let alone win? Especially that Spurs vs Cavs Finals. You think the league would have let that happen if they really rigged it for the Large Market teams? Then explain why the largest market, the Knicks, can't even get enough games rigged for them to make the playoffs at all in the East, where teams with losing records regularly make the post season?

6. The Knicks never go anywhere because the refs aren't miracle workers.
The Spurs got there by being good. But in games where things are close and a call could conceivably go either way, in the playoffs they tend to go to the team whose advancement will make the NBA more money. These guys aren't dumb, and they know which side their bread is buttered on.

10. That reminds me of the 2007 western conference finals
A Spurs player tackled Steve Nash out of bounds and no call was made in the crucial final minutes. Not sure what the market vs market of the two teams but the Spurs benefited deeply from that bad call.

8. It has to said that the NBA has some of the worst referees on the planet..
I remember one play in particular. The Celtics-Bulls first round series when Rondo drove to the basket and tripped over his own feet and the nearest Bull players was whistled for a foul. The replay was hilarious becuase the guy never touched him. The bad part is it's not an isolated incident. You can see similar things in just about every game. I realize it's tough to do their job but stuff like that shouldn't happen with 3 ref's on the floor.

12. Basketball is a very difficult sport to officiate
Everything moves so fast it nearly becomes guessing. I was a middle school basketball referee and for some reason it was nerve recking for me. Most of the parents are generally supportive but you get a few that act like they are at a pro game and trust me when I say this a referee in their eyes is the biggest enemey. You see 2 people chase after and they get to it nearly the same time they knock the ball out. Unless you have slow-mo with your eyes you might as well guess and stick to your call. Also the contact is a tricky issue, sometimes it is clearly a foul but most of the time it is very hard to tell. With the parents yelling, players complaining it can take a toll on you and this was just middle school. I hated the leadup to the game, and by the time the game was over with I was so glad.

9. I don't believe in that at all
If someone wants to check to see if he is injuried and it turns out it is just a bruise or whatever he should be allowed to return. This goes on all the time in all sports. If players were kicked out of games for seeking an x-ray or whatever then alot of players will be playing through the pain and aggravating their injuries. BS, if you're fine you should be allowed to play.

11. I hate the Lakers...
and I don't use the word "hate" lightly. However, I hope they beat the Nuggets. The Nuggets play dirty, period, and I find the concept of a Nuggets fan accusing another team of cheating tips the irony meter more than just a bit.

13. The NBA Is fixed
They pretty much prooved it when all those refs got in trouble for fixing games and betting on them. But yeah they want to market the shit out of Cavs vs Lakers. Kobe and Lebron got shit to sell!

14. why shouldn't a player be able to come back from the locker room?
Edited on Sun May-24-09 11:22 AM by fishwax
Either way, the Nuggets need to work on getting the ball inbounds. That was frustrating :banghead:
