SON OF A BITCH!
My fucking bathroom faucet BLEW OFF and the high pressure spray soaked my whole downstairs for 20 minutes or so.

I replaced the faucet, but it has a minor leak that I can't rectify, and I'm too goddamn tired to get on my back with the vanity ledge cutting me in two one more time.

I hate calling plumbers...but I will have to Tuesday. Can't take this goddamn aggravation anymore.

:grr: :grr:

2. It's a good thing you were home
I know that's not much comfort, but it could have been worse.

6. The thing is, Tobin...
I wasn't home. I was planting flowers at my dad's grave. When I got home, the house was flooded, including the kitchen hardwood, the basement, etc.

I have most of it cleaned up now. I have the fans running to try to dry the excess...

3. just turn the supply line off
and I'd gladly trade your high pressure problem for my dribbly slow gravity issues (I use a garden hose to fill the clothes washer and a bucket for the dishwasher)

TOTAL sympathy on the working-on-your-back thing - who invents this shit?

14. I had that happen to the hot-water feeder line on my dishwasher...
It happened while I was away at work, and I came home to find half the house soaked.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're probably looking at some expensive repairs due to the water damage, too. My insurance company covered it, but it wound up costing them almost $9,000 -- and that was even with being able to save the wall-to-wall carpeting, which they first didn't think would be possible.

16. That sucks. Sorry about that.
I had something similar happen to me when I was a college student. I was all alone in our rental house and the faucet blew off and the water was drenching everything, including the electric socket right next to the vanity! When I tried to turn off the water from under the sink, I got zapped from the electrical current that was running thru the water! I was very quickly standing in a puddle of water and in a prime death-by-electrocution situation. Scary shit.
It all worked out in the end, obviously. I had to call the water company and they turned it off from the street.

Just thought I'd share. Your story brought it all up for me. :D
