Super-Dog uses his awesome powers for good, not evil
Either this police dog was bitten by a radioactive squirrel or it is simply the most physically gifted canine on the planet. Either way it’s good to see his powers are being used for good and not evil.

Damn!

3. what kind of dog is that?
it looks small for a police dog - though that doesn't seem to matter!

Where did this take place? Do you have a link to more footage?

4. It's probably a Belgian Malinois, they're smaller/skinner than GSD's
It's also obviously a training video. The man shooting the gun over the car is wearing a sleeve.

5. I believe you're right

Unfortunately, all I have is the video with no further context.

In Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and other European countries, as well as in the United States, Canada and Australia, the Malinois is bred primarily as a working dog for personal protection, detection, police work, search and rescue, and sport work. The United States Secret Service & Royal Australian Air Force exclusively uses the breed.

The dog is also used extensively by Unit Oketz of the Israel Defense Forces. Oketz favors the more slight build of the Malinois to the German Shepherd and Rottweiler, which were employed formerly.

6. They're great dogs -- I like them.
More hyper than a German Shepherd, though.

7. Yeah, apparently they can fly
:)

Are they prone to the hip dysplasia that seems to be so common in (American) German Shepherds?

8. I'm sure the AKC has wrecked the Malinois, since they ruin everything they touch

But for protection work, they probably use the healthier European lines, just as they do with German Shepherds.

Oh, and one obstacle in a schutzhund course is the dog has to be able to scale a 2-meter wooden wall.
