Indy Ice roll into CHL playoffs

The Indianapolis Ice saved themselves some traveling time in this week's opening round of the Central Hockey League playoffs by defeating Northwest Division champion Colorado 4-3 in a shootout on Sunday.

It was the regular-season finale for both teams and the loss ended a seven-game winning streak by the Eagles, who had defeated Indianapolis in their three other meetings this season.

The victory sends the Ice (37-23-4) against Northeast Division champion Bossier-Shreveport in the best-of-five first-round. The Ice clinched the third seed with the victory and will play the first two games in the series on the road Friday and Saturday.
