5. I reported it for three violations

Fraudulent auction - item does not exist; possible shilling - both the seller and the buyer "dnc_for_kerry" are new members who signed up today; listing in bad faith - the 'endorsement' will be revoked prior to election.

It doesn't do much good to protest on grounds of bad taste - I've sold things on eBay that have earned me e-mails from people praying for my blackened soul - but rule violations are concrete and actionable. I'll let you know what response I get.

As I didn't bid on it and am not the victim of fraud, it's not their policy to release information about their investigation, so I won't receive a follow-up.

I'm still hoping it will be removed, though - they're a huge site and sometimes move a little slowly. For example, a few months ago a guy offered himself as a slave for one year, and that auction stayed up for about four days before it was declared invalid. (The guy wanted a huge amount of money, refused to partake in any sexual acts AND expected the winning bidder to feed and care for his dog as well as him. Some slave!)
