Poll question: BEST NUMBER 2 HIT of the LATE 1960s? (Part 4)
With this poll, we bid the '60s a fond farewell. Haven't decided yet if I'll conduct any polls based on the runner-up hits of the '70s. I'll have to see if enough of them aren't blatantly awful to justify the effort!

1. "Hot fun in the Summertime"
Is my FAVORITE Sly song ever.

And Sly & the Family Stone may well be my favorite band ever.

Hence, my vote.

2. Wow! Toughest choice yet.
These were number TWO?? Hard to believe - I think of all of them as classics.

3. Boy Named Sue
excellent lesson there, used it as a parental reference for years; every time they complained about some weird thing we did to make their lives unbearable.

12. It's easy to see Vietnam emerge in the consciousness of the young then.
CCR is still one of my favorites and "Bad Moon Rising" is terrific. I don't know why you (effectively) put Zager & Evans in the same category as Mancini ... 2525 was a "consciousness" song.

5. Love them all but
picked Lonely Girl. I just love when males can sing high (notes) so beautifully.
Saw him about two years ago on one of those tv- bring back the oldies singers on stage- and he was just as perfect as ever.
