Song that could be applied to what the Bush is doing to my generation.
The Dream Is Over

(Words by Van Halen)

Psst!
Hey, come on man. Wake up
Yea-yeah!

I see the power changin' hands
Risin' from the streets
A self-made businessman
Knows how the system can be beat

Oh, we're the lost generation
Have no place to go
The road to destruction
Is all we need to know

'Cuz it's a rip-off
We're stepped on and cheated
We're flat stone cold lied to
We're not defeated. No!

It's ah, easy money
It's a way out
Join the family
No middleman. No IRS
Your ticket out of poverty

Oh, we're the lost generation
I hold fate from a string
Lookin' for a direction
Reachin' out for anything

So, dream another dream
This dream is over (Ooo-ooo-ooo)
Dream another dream
This dream is over (Ahh-ahh)
Dream another dream (Dream another dream)
This dream is over (Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo)
Over, yeah
So dream another dream!

(Guitar Solo)

Oh!
Ow!

Ow! It's a rip-off
We're stepped on and cheated
Flat stone cold lied to
We're not defeated. No!

Dream another dream
This dream is over (Ooo-ooo-ooo)
Dream another dream
This dream is over, over (Dream another dream)
Dream another dream
This dream is over, oh (Ooo-ooo-ooo)
Dream another dream
This dream is over. Over, yeah (Dream another dream)
(Dream) Dream another dream (Ooo-ooo-ooo)
Dream another dream
(Dream) Dream another dream (Ooo-ooo-ooo)
Oh, this dream is over
(Dream) Dream another dream (Dream another dream)
Dream another dream

~Van Halen, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, 1991

The Eastern World
It is explodin'
Violence flarin'
Bullets loadin'
You're old enough to kill
But not for votin'
You don't believe in war
But what's that gun you're totin'
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin'

But you tell me over, and over, and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

Don't you understand what I'm tryin' to say
And can't you feel the fears I'm feelin' today
If the button is pushed, there's no runnin' away
There'll be no one to save
With the whole world in a grave
Take a look around you boy,
It's bound to scare you boy

And you tell me over, and over, and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

Yeah, my blood's so mad
Feels like coagulatin'
I'm sittin' here, just contemplatin'
I can't twist the truth
It knows no regulation
Handful of senators don't pass legislation
And marches alone can't bring integration
When human respect is disintegratin'
This whole crazy world
Is just too frustratin'

And you tell me over, and over, and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

And think of all the hate there is in Red China
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama
Ah you may leave here for four days in space
But when you return it's the same old place
The poundin' of the drums
The pride and disgrace
You can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace
Hate your next door neighbor, but don't forget to say grace

But you tell me over, and over, and over, and over again my friend
You don't believe we're on the eve of destruction
No, no, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

13. Sorry -- that wasn't a slam
I'm a big fan of Sloan, and it gave me an opportunity to list his semi-official website.

(Nearly every variant on "PFSLOAN" as a domain name has been taken by one bank or another.)

He's still around, by the way, and occasionally plays the odd small venue, and makes sure to play Eve of Destruction and Secret Agent Man.

or Bob Marley and The Wailers "Get Up, Stand Up"- both come to mind.

10. No Remorse~Metallica
No mercy for what we are doing
No thought to even what we have done
We don't need to feel the sorrow
No remorse for the helpless one

War without end
No remorse no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day another death
Another sorrow another breath
No remorse no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day another death
Another sorrow another breath

Blood feeds the war machine
As it eats its way across the land
We don't need to feel the sorrow
No remorse is the one command

War without end
No remorse no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day another death
Another sorrow another breath
No remorse no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day another death
Another sorrow another breath

Only the strong survive
No will to save the weaker race
We are ready to kill all comers
Like a loaded gun right at your face

War without end
No remorse no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day another death
Another sorrow another breath
No remorse no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day another death
Another sorrow another breath

Attack
Bullets are flying
People are dying
With madness surrounding all hell's breaking loose
Soldiers are hounding
Bodies are mounting
Cannons are shouting to take their abuse
With war machines going
Blood starts to flowing
No mercy given to anyone hear
The furious fighting
Swords are like lightning
It all becomes frightening you
Know death is near
NO REMORSE :evilfrown:

14. From Pet Sounds
(I Guess) I Just Wasn`t Made For These Times
(Irving Music, Inc. BMI
Brian Wilson/Tony Asher)

I keep looking for a place to fit
Where I can speak my mind
I've been trying hard to find the people
That I won't leave behind

They say I got brains
But they ain't doing me no good
I wish they could

Each time things start to happen again
I think I got something good goin' for myself
But what goes wrong

Sometimes I feel very sad
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find nothin' I can put my heart and soul into)
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find nothin' I can put my heart and soul into)

I guess I just wasn't made for these times

Every time I get the inspiration
To go change things around
No one wants to help me look for places
Where new things might be found

Where can I turn when my fair weather friends cop out
What's it all about

Each time things start to happen again
I think I got something good goin' for myself
But what goes wrong

Sometimes I feel very sad
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find nothin' I can put my heart and soul into)
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find nothin' I can put my heart and soul into)

I guess I just wasn't made for these times
I guess I just wasn't made for these times
I guess I just wasn't made for these times
I guess I just wasn't made for these times
I guess I just wasn't made for these times
I guess I just wasn't made for these times
