If you could get rid of any useless State in the Union which one would it be?

as we're allowed to. South Texas is solid Democrat. Let the fundies keep North Texas. They've had it forever anyway. They fight everything. Hell, we didn't have liquor by the drink until the early 70's because of them.

And I lived in a semi-dry county in South Texas for a couple of years. Remeber the blue laws? What the hell was that all about? I can buy my girlfriend a vibrator on Sunday, but not batteries?

I haven't heard anyone bring that up in so long, I almost forgot about it. That was back in the days when almost everything was really closed on Sundays... At least in the small town where I grew up.

Actually, Texas has a statute that outlaws vibrators if they're used for sex. That's what they nailed this lady for.

Nothing politically good has EVER come out of Webb county. Webb county is the political Mos Eisle (spelling? Star Wars Episode 4) of Texas. The most recent example is the Ciro Rodriguez - Henry Cuellar debacle. Cuellar had no business running against Ciro. AND, I'll make a prediction right now... Ciro is NOT a lock on beating the puke in this one as he should be. I predict Ciro will lose Webb county by 2 - 1. (Remember that Henry Cuelllar carried Webb county by 30,000 votes in '02 against Henry Bonilla). It will be tough for Ciro because all those people are about is who puts the most money on the street, unless you're from Laredo and then they join you against everyone else if you haven't made too many enemies in the Zaffirini - Bruni wars. Sanchez eye deep in the political blood wars going on down there.
