Four whores and seven beers ago... (The California Recall)
I was just contemplating how our civil disagreements have gone from the ridiculous to the so blind. The Recall began because the Republicans wanted a Republican governor in California to ensure they can steal the 2004 presidential election. I don't think they ever expected the Recall to get so out of hand.

Can you imagine the logistical nightmare for reporters who must dutifully dig up the dirt on over 100 potential candidates for the Governorship of California? California's politics have become a parody of our Democracy.

And explaining it to the children presents difficulties of its own. You know life is different when a mother finds herself explaining to her son, "no son, that's not pornography, that's the Republican candidate for the California Governorship. He was poor when he posed for that nekkid picture."

Anybody else finding examples of blow-back and ironies?
