(It's been hot over here)Valley may be in for 5th day of record heat
Thunderstorms were expected Sunday evening, but the day hit a record high of 97 degrees, breaking the previous mark of 93 set in 2002, according to the weather service's Web site. The day also had a record-high minimum temperature of 67 degrees, breaking the 64-degree barrier set in 1978.

Saturday's high was 95, breaking the old record of 94 set in 1925 and 1997.

Friday's high was 92, tying the record set in 1925. It also tied the record-high minimum of 61, last set in 1978.

Thursday's high of 91 tied the record set in 1989 and set the record for the highest minimum at 62 degrees.

1. Isn't it a little early to be burning your hands on the steering wheel?
I mean, it's Phoenix, but sheesh - it's only been spring for three days!

3. Strange weather pattern -- So. Calif. deserts are unusually warm, too...
Palm Desert has been in the high 80s -- low 90s for several days. that's about ten+ degrees warmer than usual for this time of year.

Los Angeles has been shrouded in fog for a couple of weeks -- a phenomenon that normally doesn't occur until June, as the inland land masses heat up.
