I've had more stuff stolen in the past 3 years
than in my entire life. Last night, some FUCKING ASSHOLE broke into my car and stole my $700 stereo, destroying my driver's side lock and my trunk lock. About a year ago, my $1200 mountain bike and two computers were stolen from my old apartment storage unit. Insurance payout? Zero in both cases.

Oh well, at least I have my health.. sigh.. Thieves are stealing my stuff, and Bush is stealing my hope. Sorry for the pouting, but sometimes I just feel like giving up.

1. No insurance? Not even on the car?
That blows.

Don't give up though - don't give the bastards the satisfaction!

7. That sucks!
I removed full-coverage from my car a few years ago due to money troubles. I promptly went right out, smashed into someone, totalling my car. At least I had liability still. Thank goodness my dad had an old beater truck he could give me. No way could I have bought a new car.

I've been there - when it feels like it will never stop raining...I came out of it, but it took a couple years, a promotion and a lifestyle change.

Keep your head up!

2. a SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLAR stereo?!?!?!?
D'oh!!!!

Talk about a high-value target for theives...I wouldn't keep a $700 stereo in my house, much less a car that's so easy to break into (and if you don't think a car is easy to break into, you've obviously never broken into a car...;-) )

Next time, put in a $70 stereo, they're much less likely to get stolen.

3. It was only $700 because
it was the first MP3 stereo on the market 3 or 4 years ago (back when I was a rich IT guy). It's probably worth $50 at the pawn shop where the bastard will sell it. At least he didn't get the remote.

4. When I was in college
Someone broke in my 84 Oldsmobile and stole my 30 dollar Audiovox stereo. It was so crappy, it was one of those you couldn't rewind, you had to turn the tape over and fast forward.
What made me feel better is, I'll bet that guy was pissed when he tried to sell it to the pawn shop and got 5 dollars.

Sorry to hear about your stereo man....
